We are bound to eating them though. If you have a problem with that I suggest you take it up with serveral thousand years of evolution. Life is death dude. All living things consume something. Are cows callous to the suffering of grass? I know people say that grass doesnt compare because its a plant but I think they're just avoiding the argument.Don't get me wrong - I'm all for minimising suffering accross the board, i think conservation and ecologically sustainable practices are of paramount importance but lets not turn into sentimental girls here. We live by eating other animals, like all top preditors. Such is life.

First, you're expecting Christian fundamentalists to be both rational and consistent. Good luck with that. Second, fundamentalism is *never* going to completely disappear because the world's supply of fear and stupidity will never be completely exhausted.The most the rest of us can hope for, I think, is for adherence to demonstrably idiotic beliefs to become so embarrassing, people won't want to admit to them because they won't want to be laughed at in public. Not unlike believing in a flat or hollow earth. Or seriously believing in the Tooth Fairy.

Seems like a question of revenge vs rehabilitation. Are they sending them to prison for life in order to make victims feel satisfied, or do they honestly think there is no way that they will change their ways?
