As a Blockbuster employee for several years, I can tell you it's because they gouge their customers and treat their employees poorly and keep wages low.And as it turns out, it's not $2, it's $4. They really don't get it."Update at 1:51 p.m.: Someone with NCR, the manufacturer of the kiosk, just phoned with an update: Fast Company yesterday incorrectly reported the price of the SD download. The price will not be $4, but $2 ... at least, for now. "This is just a test," he says. "Just a pilot. It's nothing final." And he reminds that Hollywood Video is also testing the kiosk as well. Still waiting on Hargrove."
Keywords in Bookmarks goes back to Netscape and is something I use many times throughout the day, and is something many are unaware of.Just put in a one-word keyword for hyperlinks you use often (you have to select "more" when editing the bookmark to see it). From then on, type that word in the URL bar and hit enter. One example out of dozens: on my work machine I type "time" and it takes me directly into our project timesheet approval screen, which is a huge URL deep inside the application.

As opposed to the absolute disaster to come in a few years? Seriously, the system is going to collapse... Today's working young aren't going to benefit at all, and yet they're forced to fund this ponzi scheme. I've been paying into it for 20 years now. I'd be willing to forgo any claim on my benefits if they'd just let me out now... Heck, I'd be willing to keep paying half of what I pay now, even without future benefits, just to see a plan to eventually phase out the system.?
I don't think he asked about retrieving the robots. |

That train has a hell of a set of brakes. I wouldn't have thought it could stop like that. Well done, brake designer!

The people who wrote the press release aren't really an "industry." It's a site called TunesPro, which operates offshore. If you remember the Russian site AllofMP3, you'll understand how they work.Whether TunesPro actually pays royalties and operates within the law is debatable. For now I'd say it's a safe bet that the $0.19 they collect per track does not actually go to the artists or labels. If it's between pirating and using a site like TunesPro, you may as well pirate.
